Covington & Burling
An evening approach to the project reveals a softly glowing building which presents a unified Covington presence across this twelve story, over 450,000 square foot project. The user is enveloped in a crisp, dramatic, uncluttered luminous environment as conceived by the architects, which quietly meets the diverse program needs of the Covington organization.
Ninety-nine percent of the lighting on the completed project uses LED technology. This smaller, more efficient source permitted precise integration with architectural details, especially useful in the compressed floor heights of Washington, DC. Light fixtures are rigorously aligned to achieve seamless integration with the interior architecture of the project. Special features within conference floors include expansive luminous ceilings and geometric shapes created by sharp glowing lines. The result is efficient, effective, unobtrusive and beautiful.
