Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort Hotel

Orlando, Florida

Client: Walt Disney World
Architect: Michael Graves Architecture & Design
Completion: 1990

With a style described as “entertainment architecture”, the 1.4 millionsquare- foot resort’s theme is emphasized by the swan and dolphin statues that grace the top of each hotel. Guests are treated to a delightful mix of décor, from shades of aqua and coral, hand-painted murals and monkey chandeliers to the beach-scene walls, custompainted furniture and a collection reproductions by such masters as Matisse, Van Gogh, Hockney and Picasso. And all of it combines to create a unique, fun and entertaining stay.
