Gavin Cantrell

From a young age, Mr. Cantrell was drawn to visual storytelling, which he discovered is impossible without the phenomenon of light. While studying filmmaking and theatre, he learned how harnessing the mysterious power of light is fundamental to successfully engaging an audience emotionally.
Gavin has spent over a decade working in film, television, and events production in lighting design, cinematography, and multi-camera broadcast direction. He brings a polymathic approach to the practice of lighting design, changing angles and swapping lenses to consider his work from various perspectives.
Gavin is an avid cyclist and has visited over a dozen countries while bicycle touring. When he’s not pedaling, he can be found in the third row of a local cinema or amidst the shelves of the nearest used bookstore.
