Obama Presidential Center

Jackson Park, Chicago, Illinois

Client: The Obama Foundation
Architect: Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects
Completion: 2026
LEED Platinum®

The Obama Presidential Center is conceived as an open civic campus that grows out of Jackson Park. It is organized as a connected ensemble of buildings and public spaces that together create a shared setting for gathering, learning, reflection, and public life.

The campus architecture includes the Museum Building, Forum, Chicago Public Library Branch, John Lewis Plaza, and Home Court. Rather than functioning as separate elements, architecture and landscape are designed together, allowing the park to shape how the campus is experienced.

Art is woven into the very fabric of the Obama Presidential Center, creating a dynamic dialogue between history, community, and the spirit of civic participation. The campus features 28 commissioned works by 30 artists, spanning both renowned and emerging voices.
