Kristina Jajalla volunteers at SoCAL NOMA Architecture Camp 2023

FMS designer Kristina Jajalla took a moment to revisit summer camp in July and volunteered to lead a lighting workshop at the 2023 SoCAL NOMA Architecture Summer Camp in Los Angeles.

The camp’s mission is to Equip, Empower, and Educate young minds about the built environment and architectural profession. Volunteers with various professional backgrounds work together to lead workshops, site tours and mentor campers through their designs. This year’s theme was Superheroes, and we can’t help but agree that superhero values and virtues radiated in all of the camper’s architectural designs.

During the lighting workshops, campers experienced the incredible power of light and its effect on the built environment. Campers gathered at each station to learn about the qualities of light and joined hands-on demonstrations using lighting equipment. See our story for additional images from the event. 

From our involvement with the Tribute in Light, OHNY, and NOMA summer camps, our designers and staff understand that we continue to grow our lighting community by giving back.
