Mr. Harrison grew up in Dallas, Texas and attended Rice University where he pursued degrees in Theatrical Design and Business Management. Nick’s experience working with dramatic shapes and color on stage taught him how we react to lighting in the built environment and encouraged the development of a creative design mindset. These experiences bringing spaces to life, along with his love of storytelling, led him to pursue Lighting Design as a professional path. Nick is excited to continue transforming the built environment as a professional lighting designer.

As part of FMS, Nick is drawn to the firm’s history and rich portfolio of projects. Ever since his 2024 internship, he has been curious: always asking about how fixtures and controls work to produce the impressive results seen in architecture and theatre today.

When he’s not in the office, Nick enjoys attending all sorts of theatre and live performances, exploring NYC parks, cooking, baking, and traveling. His favorite destination to date is the Switzerland countryside, with its breathtaking, clear mountain air and calm villages.
