Yvette Adonai
Administrative Assistant

Ms. Adonai’s creative journey began in second grade. Her teacher asked the class to use a black crayon, scribble and then fill in the voids with color. She flunked this assignment, and thus began her life-long pursuit of becoming an artist. She didn’t care what medium as long as she was able to create. Years later, Yvette joined FMS and discovered that light is beautiful! Lighting is not just utilitarian; it creates mood, atmosphere and anticipation.
Yvette considers herself to be a professional support person. She became an administrative assistant by accident over 20 years ago, starting in finance, then IT. Her favorite industry is where she is right now…lighting design. Her job is to take care of all of the minutia so the designers can focus on “making magic”.
Yvette finally did discover her artistic field, it began with Halloween costumes that she made as an adult. The more she worked in costumes, the more she wanted to learn about sewing and fabric arts. Yvette earned a Tailoring certificate from SUNY FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology). Her specialty is creating one-of-a-kind evening wear and accessories using couture techniques. Her favorite moment is the first time someone puts on one of her pieces – their eyes light up, and then they smile.
